Daymon is the materialised creation of the commitment of Mendittorosa to do her bit for those animals around us without a human language or power to defend themselves against humans. It came to us in the process of the world-wide work of animal protection. We decided to support the NGO Cruelty Free Leaping Bunny by making it official what we have always been of course: Cruelty Free.
Mendittorosa also trusts and supports the Italian NGO LAV in their work to give a shelter in Tuscany for maltreated animals of any kind – you could call it “The Arc of Compassion”.
Daymon is therefore so much more than a great creation elaborated together with the Master of Perfume Luca Maffei. It is our vision to stop human violence against animals, to lessen their suffering and to set them free from slavery and slaughter. Testing and experiments. Once and for all to make clear that animals are not less worth than humans. We are all equal and should be treated like so. Humans suffer from racism, gender abuse, war and egoism, but that is something we chose to do. The animals are suffering a lot more than we, and they have done nothing.
Mendittorosa says: No. Enough is enough. Love the animals around you.
The Daymon comes in a unique flacon crowned by a Daymon ceramic made by the magnificent Tuscan artist Alessandro Reggioli. Hand-made each and every one. Daymon is looking out from the rounded box. Cautiously. Look at it and choose each other. The totem form, the soft wool and silk tail made by Neapolitan 38Verde coming out at the top and indeed the box is all deliberately different from other Mendittorosa boxes, because this is a statement.
當歸根、突尼西亞橙花、印度茉莉；義大利鳶尾根、零陵香豆；麝香、新喀里多尼亞檀香、暹羅安息香、龍涎香醚
Daymon的開頭，是當歸的中藥味相當明顯，還聞到大量的鳶尾根和類似杏仁的滑順苦味，有點像胡蘿蔔的根莖質地，快要發芽還拿去煮湯的粉感。聽起來很難吃，但是其實蠻好聞的，很像苦苦的棉花糖（？）
十五分鐘後，花香開始變得更明顯。我覺得跟天氣鰻有關的，下大雨潮濕的天氣，我整天在家開除濕（除到最乾！）反而讓前面粉質明顯，後面的花香濕潤更突出。茉莉的甜暖以及橙花明亮的感覺這時候變得包覆感濃厚。
一個小時之後，因為我都在交通工具上，沒能好好細聞，香味還是非常明顯，但是又不會擾人。老實說我很希望穿這支出去的時候被讚美，因為我真的很喜歡他的味道，但是好像從來沒有發生過XDD
兩個小時後，花香持續非常明顯，鳶尾根的土地質感現在穩定持續，有種清潔的甜香餘韻。我很喜歡檀香安息香系列的飄裊質感，雖然無法仔細分辨出來。
四個小時後，在我身上仍然相當清晰，可以聞到麝香的絨毛感，以及從延續下來粉質花香，還有些許鳶尾的苦味。從頭到尾都有乾燥的粉質感，好像不會黏手的厚塑膠袋。雖然這樣講很奇怪，因為這支香水標榜的可是零殘忍跟環保。
義大利品牌Mendittorosa於 2012 年由創辦人 Stefania Squeglia 在拿坡里創立，創作大部分都跟靈性體驗有關。調香師Luca Maffei也是義大利人，我發現我還聞過不少，Olibere就有很多他的作品。官方給了Daymon小怪獸一個支持動福的精神象徵，相傳名字的來由是希臘神話中的「δαίμων」，類似的概念應該是靈獸？善的靈獸，掌管命運劃分的守護者。
我還住在泰山的時候，克勞德送我這支香水當作禮物，應該純粹是因為可愛，嗎？我對盒子難以收納印象深刻，很高而且是不太堅固的厚紙板，放在床底下就被壓壞了（氣）。後來幾次搬家之後就把盒子丟了，現在想想應該要留著上面那撮頭毛。
這類型的氣味，或者說這個方向的氣味，我個人歸類為皮味，就是一種在皮膚上可能被歸類為自然體香的氣味。我個人蒐藏中歸爲這類的大概有Maison Violet的Cycle 001、Tiziana Terenzi的ECLIX 黑月香精、Vilhelm Parfumerie的Do Not Disturb、Serge Lutens的Clair de Musc清色麝香和FUEGUIA 1833的Agua Magnoliana 木蘭之水這幾支。查詢他們的香調，發現應該是在鳶尾根、胡蘿蔔籽、植物性麝香可能帶點辛辣的苦味讓我特別著迷。在皮膚上有存在感，但因為香型比較特殊，大家不太會覺得是香水，而是比較像沐浴乳或是洗衣精的殘留氣味之類（如果用量少的話）。
盧卡圖林說小怪獸「在潔淨中帶有足夠的污濁感以維持趣味」，在純真與複雜之間遊走，奇特的美感也是小怪獸迷人的地方。
